Spain. Air Europa pilots call strike on 5 May
Air Europa pilots take the last day of strike action today, 5 May, with minimum services published.
The Spanish Airline Pilots Union (Sepla) has announced a strike at Air Europa on 5 May at all bases and work centres in Spain.
Yesterday the airline cancelled 16 flights and flights have been suspended not only nationally across Spain, but also flights to and from Italy. Flights between Madrid and Vigo, Bilbao, A Coruña, Oporto, Rome-Fiumicino and Milan-Malpensa with a link between Barcelona and Palma have been suspended.
The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (Mitma) has set minimum services ranging from 50% to 77% for domestic flights to or from island territories (Canary Islands and Balearic Islands); 38% to 53% for international and domestic flights whose travel time by public transport is more than five hours; and between 22% and 34% for the rest of domestic flights on the Spanish mainland.
Travellers are advised to confirm the status of their flights and contact the airline for further information.
