El Aeropuerto Internacional Matecaña de Pereira (PEI) estará cerrado al tráfico de viajeros desde el martes 3 de septiembre de 2024 a las 12:00 hora local hasta el miércoles 4 de septiembre de 2024 a las 18:00 horas. El cierre se debe a trabajos de mantenimiento preventivo en la pista de aterrizaje.
Durante estas 30 horas, el aeropuerto no ofrecerá servicios de viajeros, según ha confirmado la Aeronáutica Civil de Colombia (Aerocivil). Este cierre ha sido coordinado y aprobado por las siete compañías aéreas que operan en el aeropuerto.
El mantenimiento, que incluye la inspección y reparación de la superficie asfáltica de la pista, es una medida necesaria para garantizar la seguridad y operatividad del aeropuerto. Cabe destacar que estos trabajos se realizan cada cinco años, siendo el último mantenimiento en 2019, cuando el aeropuerto estuvo cerrado durante tres días.

Pereira Matecaña International Airport (PEI) will be closed to passenger traffic from Tuesday 3 September 2024 at 12:00 local time until Wednesday 4 September 2024 at 18:00. The closure is due to preventive maintenance work on the runway.
