El transporte público en Asturias se verá afectado por la huelga promovida por los sindicatos CC OO y UGT. En el caso asturiano, son los comités de empresa de las principales compañías de autobuses de la región, la Empresa Municipal de Transportes Urbanos de Gijón (EMTUSA), la Transportes Unidos de Asturias (TUA) en Oviedo, la Compañía de Transportes de Avilés (CTEA) y la empresa de autobuses ALSA los que han anunciado su apoyo a los paros que comenzarán el 28 de octubre. Esta huelga afectará tanto al transporte de mercancías como al de viajeros.
La huelga tendrá un impacto directo en los viajeros que dependen del transporte público para desplazarse a los principales aeropuertos de la región. El Aeropuerto de Asturias (OVD), ubicado en las cercanías de Avilés, podría experimentar dificultades para que los viajeros lleguen a tiempo, dado que las líneas de autobús hacia y desde el aeropuerto, gestionadas por ALSA, estarán afectadas por los paros.
Además de las dificultades para acceder a Oviedo, las conexiones de autobús entre las principales ciudades asturianas —Gijón, Oviedo y Avilés— se verán interrumpidas. Los autobuses urbanos y las rutas interurbanas que sirven como enlaces clave para los viajeros que necesitan desplazarse entre las ciudades y sus respectivas estaciones de trenes también sufrirán retrasos o cancelaciones.
La huelga comenzará el 28 de octubre y continuará en varias jornadas específicas: 11, 28 y 29 de noviembre, así como el 5 y 9 de diciembre. De no alcanzarse un acuerdo, los paros podrían extenderse de manera indefinida a partir del 23 de diciembre, lo que supondría una disrupción mayor para los viajeros durante las festividades navideñas.
– Se recomienda a los viajeros que tengan vuelos programados desde o hacia el Aeropuerto de Asturias (OVD) que planifiquen con antelación sus desplazamientos y consideren alternativas de transporte, como los servicios de VTC, que no estarán afectados por la huelga.
– Es fundamental prever retrasos significativos en los servicios de autobuses urbanos e interurbanos y, en la medida de lo posible, utilizar vehículos privados para garantizar llegar a tiempo a sus destinos.
Dado que la huelga podría prolongarse, se sugiere a los viajeros estar atentos a las actualizaciones en los medios locales y a las comunicaciones de las empresas de transporte para conocer los servicios mínimos que puedan implementarse en las próximas semanas.

Public transport in Asturias will be affected by the strike promoted by the trade unions CC OO and UGT. In the case of Asturias, the works councils of the main bus companies in the region, Empresa Municipal de Transportes Urbanos de Gijón (EMTUSA), Transportes Unidos de Asturias (TUA) in Oviedo, Compañía de Transportes de Avilés (CTEA) and the bus company ALSA, have announced their support for the strike that will begin on 28 October. The strike will have a direct impact on passengers who rely on public transport to travel to the main airports in the region. The strike will begin on 28 October and continue on several specific days: 11, 28 and 29 November, as well as 5 and 9 December. If no agreement is reached, the strikes could extend indefinitely from 23 December, further disrupting travellers over the Christmas holidays.
