SPAIN. Semaf railway union plan series of strikes from 30 September until 12 October
The Railway Machine Operators’ Union (SEMAF) has announced a series of strikes from Thursday 30 September that will prolong until Tuesday 12 October. The strikes will take place on Thursday 30 September, Friday 1 October, Monday 4 October, Tuesday 5 October, Thursday 7 October, Friday 8 October, Monday 11 October, and Tuesday 12 October.
- On Thursday 30 September and Friday 1 October, the strikes will run for 24 hours.
- On Monday 4 October, the strike will run from 5 a.m.-9 a.m., 2 p.m.-4 p.m. and 6 p.m.-8 p.m., local times.
- On Thursday 7 October, the strike will take place from midnight-4 p.m. and 6 p.m.-10 p.m., local times.
MITMA has established the minimum services for each segment. In AVE-Larga Distancia 72% will have to be operated, i.e. 703 trains out of the usual 970. Of the 1,786 Media Distancia trains, 1,161 will run, 65% of the regular services. In Cercanías, a percentage of 100% of the usual levels is established for peak hours and 75% for the rest of the day.
