UK: Aviation Fuel Services employees to strike at London Heathrow Airport
Several airlines at Heathrow Airport could face disruption due to refuelling staff striking tomorrow. A total of 50 workers from Aviation Fuel Services (AFS) will stage a three-day walkout from 05:00 BST on Thursday to 04:59 on Sunday.
Airlines affected include Virgin, United, KLM, Emirates, Air France,Delta, KLM, Singapore Airlines, American Arilines and SAS.
The strike will probably have minimal impact on British Airways operations given the carrier does not use AFS to fuel its aircraft at Heathrow.
Confirm flights if booked to fly via Heathrow July 21-24. Do not check out of accommodations until onward travel is confirmed. Consider alternative travel arrangements if necessary and arrive at Heathrow early to allow extra time to clear passenger processing and airport security.
