Spain. Ryanair strike: handling stoppages at 23 airports until January
A strike has been called by Ryanair’s ground handling workers at 7 airports, with work stoppages starting on 28 October and running until 7 January. The strike will affect ramp services and other ground operations such as check-in and boarding at the airports of Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona-El Prat, Palma de Mallorca, Malaga, Alicante, Seville, Valencia, Girona, Santiago de Compostela, Ibiza, Reus, Tenerife South, Tenerife North, Lanzarote, Jerez, Santander, Gran Canaria, Zaragoza, Fuerteventura, Menorca, Almeria, Valladolid and Murcia.
- In total, the workers will carry out 31 stoppages. Five between 28 October and 1 November 2022, both included, full time, from 00:00 hours on the 28th until 24:00 hours on 1 November.
- From 2 to 30 November 2022, partial stoppages will take place every Friday, Saturday and Sunday of the month: 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27, with partial stoppages between 04:00 and 07:00, between 12:00 and 15:00 and between 21:00 and 23:00.
- During the month of December 2022, on 6, 10, 16, 17, 18, 22 and 23 December, partial stoppages shall take place between 04:00 and 07:00 hours, between 12:00 and 15:00 hours and between 21:00 and 23:00 hours. On 8, 11, 30 and 31 December, the stoppages shall be full time, between 00:00 and 24:00 on those dates.
- During the month of January 2023, on 6 and 8 January 2023, there will be total stoppages, between 00:00 and 24:00 hours on those dates.
Currently, the ‘low cost’ is immersed in a strike of cabin crew (TCP) called by the unions USO and Sitcpla until 7 January 2023, with 24-hour stoppages from Monday to Thursday.
