All domestic flight departures in the US are halted due to a major FAA outage.

The Federal Aviation Administration reported a computer breakdown on Wednesday morning, which resulted in the cancellation of all departing aircraft across the country.
More than 4,000 domestic, international, and transatlantic aircraft were running late. More than 700 flights were listed as canceled on Wednesday.

Passengers arriving and departing this morning and throughout the day can expect delays.
However, the international airport manager Aéroports de Paris, or Airports of Paris, announced that all flights by American airline firms would be delayed until further notice. A number of airports outside the United States reported that operations were still going as usual. It said non-American airlines were flying out as normal without interruption.

Air France said all of its U.S.-bound flights were operating as planned and were not affected by the FAA computer outage. The airline said it continued to monitor the situation.

Confirm flights before leaving for the airport. Allow additional time for check-in and to clear airport security.

UPDATE. Normal air traffic operations are resuming gradually across the United States following an overnight outage to the FAA’s Notice to Air Missions (NOTAM) system that provides safety information to flight crews. The ground stop has been lifted.  Some airports have already started resuming departures, including Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL).
