Spain. Air traffic controllers, Air Nostrum and Swissport strikes continue
The strike by air traffic controllers at the sixteen privatised towers in the state airport network will continue throughout the month of March.
The new days of protest will take place on Tuesday 14 and 21 March and Wednesday 29. The central airports have called three-hour stoppages for these days, between 16:00 and 19:00, warning that all flights operating between these hours will be considered affected by the protest call. The towers affected are Alicante-Elche, Castellón, Cuatro Vientos, El Hierro, Fuerteventura, Ibiza, Jerez, Lanzarote, La Palma, Lleida, Murcia, Sabadell, Seville and Valencia, as well as A Coruña and Vigo.
Iberia Regional Air Nostrum pilots call an indefinite strike for every Monday and Friday: This inactivity will affect the company’s bases and work centers. Air Nostrum, a franchisee of Spanish flag carrier Iberia, operates a network of regional domestic and international flights under Iberia codes.
Significant flight disruptions (delays and cancelations) are expected throughout these periods.
Travelers are advised to confirm the status of their flights and contact the airline for more information.
Swissport strikes continues in 17 spanish airports. The walkout will continue every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday until March 13.
