Travellers in the Netherlands are experiencing disruption to rail services due to construction work being carried out in the vicinity of Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. The works are scheduled to continue until 3 December 2023. This period of disruption is due to extensive railway works by ProRail near the airport.
The disruption affects passengers travelling between Leiden Central Station and Schiphol Airport, as well as between Amsterdam Central Station and Schiphol Airport. On 18 and 19 November there will be no Intercity Direct trains running between Rotterdam Central Station and Amsterdam Central Station. In addition, on 3 December there will be no trains between Leiden Central Station and Schiphol Airport, but express buses will be available as an alternative. These adjustments particularly affect daily commuters and those using these key routes.
Travellers are advised to check their travel plans in advance and prepare for longer journey times due to the adjustment of train schedules.
