Portugal se prepara para una alerta meteorológica según ha advertido el Instituto Portugués del Mar y la Atmósfera (IPMA). Diez distritos junto con la costa norte de la isla de Madeira (FNC) y Porto Santo (PXO), han sido colocados bajo alerta naranja este jueves y viernes, lo que indica un riesgo moderado a alto de impacto debido a las condiciones meteorológicas previstas.
Los distritos de Faro (FAO), Oporto (OPO), Setúbal, Viana do Castelo, Lisboa (LIS), Leiria, Beja, Aveiro, Coimbra y Braga tendrán inicialmente una alerta amarilla el jueves, ascendiendo a alerta naranja el viernes.
De manera similar, la costa norte de Madeira y Porto Santo estarán bajo aviso amarillo el jueves, cambiando a naranja hasta el viernes.
El IPMA ha pronosticado olas con alturas significativas de entre 5 a 6 metros, pudiendo alcanzar picos máximos superiores a 10 metros.
Para aquellos que planean viajar a estas regiones, se recomienda mantenerse informado sobre las actualizaciones meteorológicas y considerar posibles cambios en los planes de viaje. Portugal is preparing to face a weather alert, the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) has warned. Ten districts along with the north coast of Madeira Island (FNC) and Porto Santo (PXO), have been placed under orange alert this Thursday and Friday, indicating a moderate to high risk of impact due to expected weather conditions.
The districts of Faro (FAO), Porto (OPO), Setúbal, Viana do Castelo, Lisbon (LIS), Leiria, Beja, Aveiro, Coimbra and Braga will initially face a yellow alert on Thursday, rising to orange alert on Thursday.
Similarly, the north coast of Madeira and Porto Santo will be under yellow warning on Thursday, changing to orange until Friday.
The IPMA has forecast significant wave heights of between 5 to 6 metres, with maximum peaks in excess of 10 metres.
