Las vías de acceso a la capital se encuentran en muchas ocasiones bloqueadas por barricadas o controladas por grupos armados, lo que dificulta el tránsito tanto urbano como interurbano. Este fenómeno representa una amenaza creciente para la estabilidad general del país y afecta también a la operativa de los servicios esenciales, incluidos los desplazamientos hacia y desde los principales aeropuertos internacionales.

El aeropuerto internacional Toussaint Louverture de Puerto Príncipe (PAP), principal punto de entrada y salida del país, ha visto restringida su operativa en diversos momentos a causa de la situación de seguridad en sus alrededores. La conexión terrestre hacia el aeropuerto también puede estar comprometida por bloqueos o enfrentamientos, dificultando la llegada de los viajeros al recinto aeroportuario.

Las autoridades de países como Estados Unidos y Canadá han emitido advertencias que desaconsejan o prohíben los vuelos en el espacio aéreo de Haití por debajo de los 10.000 pies. The Toussaint Louverture International Airport in Port-au-Prince (PAP), the main point of entry and exit of the country, has seen its operations restricted at various times due to the security situation in its surroundings. The land connection to the airport can also be compromised by blockades or confrontations, making it difficult for travellers to reach the airport grounds.
