FRANCE. Call for rail strike in Paris region on June 21, across France in July

Advice. Railway unions are calling for SNCF strikes in June and July in France.
A regional strike in Ile-de-France on Monday, June 21 is supported by the unions CGT, Unsa, CFDT and SUD-Rail.
Drivers of regional Ile-de-France RERs and other trains that provide services from the suburbs to the city centre are expected to take part.

A nationwide strike is also planned for Thursday, July 1 affecting all trains including TGVs supported by union CGT-Cheminots. An additional protest in front of the SNCF headquarters is expected to go ahead on June 29.

Airport staff and employed by Paris airports are planning to launch strike action June 18. Participants will walk out at Paris Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports from 07:00 June 18 until 07:00 June 20.
The work stoppage will likely cause disruptions to flights, including delays and cancellations, at Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports. Passengers will likely experience longer waits for check-in, baggage claims, and clearing security.
Confirm flight status if booked to fly through Paris airports June 18-20 and allow additional time for check-in procedures.

In France, people will no longer be required to wear masks outdoors from Thursday, June 17; though they will still be obligatory on public transport, in sports stadiums and other crowded places. A nightly curfew will end as of Sunday.
More than 30.3 million people – 58% of France’s adult population – have received at least one Covid vaccine dose and more than 15.6 million – 23% – two doses.
