Several strikes in Portugal, France and Italy

Advice. PORTUGAL. Immigration officers plan 24-hour strike on 9 July
A planned strike action by Portuguese immigration officers for 24 hours on Friday 9 July may cause delays. If you are travelling during this period, check with your airline whether you will be affected, and allow more time to clear border control when entering and exiting Portugal.

PORTUGAL. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination, negative test required to stay in hotels
Portugal imposed stricter rules on Thursday, requiring holidaymakers to show a negative test, a vaccination certificate or proof of recovery to stay in hotels.
Negative tests, vaccination certificates or proof of recovery will also be required to eat indoors at restaurants in 60 high-risk municipalities, including Lisbon and the city of Porto, on Friday evenings and at the weekend. Holidaymakers and restaurant customers must use the EU digital COVID-19 certificate. Rapid antigen and PCR tests will also be valid, the minister said. Fast tests can be provided by hotels at check-in.
The new rules, which also apply to other holiday accommodation like Airbnbs, come into force on Saturday. Children under 12 accompanied by a parent or guardian are exempt. A night-time curfew, already in place 45 municipalities, will be extended to a further 15 municipalities, including Faro.

FRANCE. Disruption expected at Paris airports on 9, 10 July because of strike
Employees of the airport authority Paris Aéroport are planned to participate in a strike on 9 July. The strike will impact services and operations at Paris Orly Airport, Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport, and Paris Le Bourget Airport. Passengers are advised to check their flight status before heading to the airport.

ITALY. Rome faces public transport strike on 12 July
Rome commuters face disruption to public transport services on Monday 12 July due to a 24-hour strike called by the Faisa Cisal trade union representing workers in the transportation sector.
The day-long strike action will affect ATAC’s network of buses, trams, metro and light-rail services Roma-Lido, Termini-Centocelle and Roma-Nord, but will not affect the Roma TPL bus services in the city suburbs. Public transport in Rome will be at risk from 08.30 until 17.00 and from 20.00 until end of service. However services will be guaranteed during the busiest rush hour periods in the morning and evening: until 08.30 and from 17.00 until 20.00.
