Ryanair unions to hold three-day strike at Belgian airports. Belgian cabin crews at Ryanair are taking strike action from Friday 22 till Sunday 24 April.The strike is set to affect Ryanair flights from Brussels and Charleroi.
It is not yet clear what the inconvenience will be for passengers who want to take the plane at the end of this week. However, it seems almost inevitable that the impact will be large. About 650 people work for Ryanair at both airports. The pilots are not participating in the strike, but negotiations are ongoing for them too.
A planned strike and engineering works are expected to disrupt train traffic in the French Riviera this weekend. The CGT union has filed a strike notice from 1 a.m. on Friday, 22 April, until 1 a.m. on Saturday, 23 April, local times. Additionally, the circulation of trains will be interrupted between Marseille St-Charles and Aubagne and severely limited between Marseille and Nice from 23 April until 11:30 a.m. on 24 April.
As a consequence of these, TGV high-speed services from Paris to Nice will be suspended from 11:20 p.m. on 22 April until 11:30 a.m. on 24 April.
The pilots’ union of the airline Volotea has called two days of strike action over the coming weekend, on Saturday 23 and Sunday 24. The company has more than 600 employees in France and operates at seven bases: Nantes, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Strasbourg, Nice and Marseille, to which Lille has been added since 1 April.
