From May 19 it will no longer be performing Covid control checks at the land borders between Spain and France.

According to the decision, travellers entering Spain through the land borders with France are no longer required to present proof of COVID-19 vaccination, recovery from the virus, or negative test results, in order to be able to enter Spain. Previously, all travellers aged 12 and older had to present one of these three documents, meeting the criteria set by the Spanish authorities, in order to be able to enter Spain from France.

It is important to remember, however, that passengers arriving into Spain by plane will still have to wear face masks on the flight. All travellers aged 12 years and over arriving in Spain by air must have one of the following certificates:

• Certificate confirming that the holder has received a COVID-19 vaccination (vaccination certificate).
• Certificate indicating the result of a Diagnostic Test for Active COVID-19 Infection that the holder has undergone (diagnostic certificate).
• Certificate confirming that the holder has recovered from COVID-19 (certificate of recovery).

Likewise, they must complete a health control form before departure, as a responsible declaration, through the website www.spth.gob.es or the Spain Travel Health application.

Aside from France, there are no health checks at the land borders between Spain and Portugal either.
