SWISS International Air Lines pilots in Switzerland set to strike on Monday, Oct 17. Several strikes in Europe.
Unless their long-winded negotiations with Switzerland’s flagship carrier bear fruit, the pilots will go on strike on Monday October 17th. If the strike does take place, hundreds of flights and thousands of passengers would be impacted.
Negotiations are still ongoing, and an agreement could be reached before the strike date. The union said the final decision on whether to strike will be made on Sunday.

Eurowings pilots go on strike for three days
Pilots at Lufthansa subsidiary Eurowings will begin a three-day strike at midnight Monday until 23:59 on October 19. The Eurowings network covers around 130 destinations in Europe. In Spain it operates in Lanzarote, Malaga, Alicante, Barcelona, Bilbao, Fuerteventura, Ibiza, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Menorca, Palma de Mallorca, Tenerife Sur, Valencia and Jerez de la Frontera.
Potentially impacted travelers are advised to monitor the situation, verify the status of their flights prior to departure for the airport and to contact the airline for more information.
North Tenerife Airport security strike
As a result of the indefinite strike by Private Security at Tenerife North Airport, there may be queues at the security checkpoint, so it is advisable to arrive at the airport earlier in the day.
