Two trains collided near Barcelona early Wednesday and several dozen people were hurt.

The collision occurred on a train line in Montcada i Reixac, a town just north of Barcelona

Emergency services for Catalonia said that 150 people were in a «mild condition» while five others were left in a «less serious condition».

Three people have been taken to hospital for treatment as a precaution.

Service on lines R4, R7 and R 12 was interrupted for an hour and a half in both directions between Montcada i Reixac-Bifurcació and Tarrasa, Renfe said in a statement. At 9:45 the service was restored, but with some disruptions.

Avoid the immediate affected area. Allow extra time for travel to the north of Barcelona. Follow local travel and security advice.
