A partir del 4 de octubre, los viajeros no vacunados deberán realizar dos pruebas de PCR tras llegar al Reino Unido desde cualquier otro país.
- Cualquier persona que no tenga dos dosis de la vacuna Covid-19 también se les podría exigir una cuarentena de un máximo de diez días a su regreso. En la actualidad, los viajeros tienen que someterse a un test rápido antes de la salida hasta 72 horas antes de embarcar en vuelos y transbordadores con destino al Reino Unido.
- Un segundo gran aspecto de las reformas es el fin del sistema de semáforos. Los países ya no se dividirán en listas verde, ámbar y roja, ni en subcategorías entre ellas. En su lugar, existirá una lista roja de destinos que suponen un riesgo Covid.
- Se impondrá además una cuarentena hotelera para las personas que regresen de los países de la lista roja, lo que significa estancias forzosas de 10 días en hoteles seleccionados por el gobierno.
España, Francia, Italia y Portugal, hasta ahora en la lista ámbar, pasarán a estar clasificados como países de bajo riesgo. Las autoridades británicas han acordado además sacar a ocho países del grupo máximo riesgo a partir del próximo martes, entre ellos Turquía, Pakistán y Maldivas.
